Foundation formwork made even simpler

1981 saw MEVA unveil its novel “Alu-Wand + Decke” (“Alu Wall + Slab”) aluminium formwork system that combined unusually low weight with high stability. Now known as “AluFix”, the lightweight, crane-independent formwork has since seen a number of refinements in line with customer requirements.

What is the the AluFix wall formwork system?

Consisting of only a few standard components, the formwork system simplifies operations on site while shortening assembly times on residential, commercial, refurbishment, infrastructure, garden architecture and landscaping contracts.

AluFix has now undergone further optimisation, as signalled by the new “concrete grey” colour of its high-grade powder-coated finish: the technical innovation involves the provision of additional internal tie holes, set back from the outer edge by around 20 cm, for all 90 and 75 cm wide panels (available in heights of 135, 150, 250, 270, 300 and 350 cm). These extra tie holes are particularly useful for casting foundations.

What are the benefits of using AluFix?

Users require less material to fix the formwork panels, which in turn saves time and effort. Ties, plastic tubes and articulated flange nuts, all readily available on site, can be quickly assembled in the usual way without any obstruction by the metal waterstops and without any need for foundation tape, trolleys or tensioners. AluFix is easy to set up with MEVA brace brackets [e.g. SK 80] and no tools or materials are required to saw boards to size or place wooden stakes.

The best components on a building site are those that are not needed in the first place: they do not have to be purchased, transported, hunted down, installed, cleaned or replaced if lost or damaged. The internal tie holes in the 75 and 90 cm wide AluFix panels thus pave the way for even greater cost-effectiveness and quicker progress on site.
