Archer Western selects MEVA to refurbish Imperial panel fleet

Archer Western, Atlanta/GA

Archer Western, part of the Walsh Group, has had a long-standing relationship with MEVA Formwork Systems, Inc. for over 20 years. Archer Western, owners of 33,000 sq. ft. of Imperial Formwork, will make use of MEVA’s extensive refurbishment process to return their equipment back to pristine condition.

A 2,200 sq. ft. truck load of Imperial arrives at MEVA to be cleaned, buffed, and repaired

Founded in 1898, Walsh served as a well-regarded Chicago building contractor. It survived the challenges of the Great Depression and became incorporated as a construction company in the State of Illinois in 1949. In response to the continued growth, and to facilitate national expansion, Archer Western Contractors was established in 1983 in Atlanta, Georgia.

In the year 2000, MEVA introduced the new Imperial wall formwork system designed specifically for the United States market. In 2001, Atlanta-based Archer Western bought the Imperial Formwork to use on a large water treatment plant they were building at that time.

Archer Western has requested to ship 14 flatbed trucks of their Imperial Formwork to the MEVA Springfield, Ohio facility for refurbishment. Each truck will carry 2,200 sq. ft. of material which will be refurbished and then shipped back to Archer Western’s new Walnut Creek WRF Expansion project in McDonough, Georgia within 3 weeks’ lead time.

MEVA’s refurbishment standards include using a 20,000 PSI industrial power washer for cleaning the panels, followed by buffing and repairing the Alkus facing of each individual panel. MEVA will also cycle the panels through the weld bay processing after inspection of the panel frames. “The refurbishment process has always been the cornerstone of MEVA’s exceptional service,” says Zach Van Oss, MEVA Warehouse Manager. MEVA’s mission is to provide innovative, top-quality products and comprehensive services to customers all over North America.

Talking with Wayne Delong III and Jason Ray at the Big Creek water plant project, they expressed Archer Western’s asserted interest to keep their formwork investment in continual pristine condition for future projects after they set the precedence at Big Creek Water Reclamation.

Jeff Thomas, MEVA Sales Representative
