La voie est libre vers Le Versoud
Baudin Chateauneuf
La construction d’un nouveau pont au-dessus d’une voie ferrée a été maîtrisée grâce au coffrage de voiles Mammut et au système de sécurité SecuritBasic, sans perturber la circulation ferroviaire.
The goal
Building a bridge over a railway track without interrupting rail traffic To improve mobility and economic development in the north of the city, the development of a 1.7 kilometer road bar has been planned between Le Versoud and Villard-Bonnot.
The project
Summary : The piers of the new bridge have been the subject of a meticulous study so as not to have too much impact on the traffic of the railway line.
Challenge :
To avoid disruptions to the railway line as much as possible, the concrete for each pier of the new bridge had to be poured in a single day. The influence of the air current generated by passing trains on the stability of the piers also had to be taken into account. In addition, the pier cornices had to be cast at the same time as the piers. It is also impossible to resort to additional foundations or heavy shoring, as this would have interfered with the railway line.
Solution
- Technical solutions developed by experts
To achieve the pouring of each pile in just one day, 350 m³ of fresh concrete had to be placed in the space of ten hours. To avoid excessive wood offsets on the formwork, MEVA suggested using STB angle brackets . The formwork was thus able to easily adopt the geometry of the pile.On the construction site, the wall formwork Mammut 350 was able to take advantage of its strengths. With a resistance of 100 kN/m² to the pressure of fresh concrete, this formwork supports high pouring speeds. It was therefore the ideal choice to quickly construct the piers for the new bridge.
- Work at height safely
The 79 cm long cornices, which had to be cast at a height of 10 m, were difficult to access. To solve the problem, the Mammut 350 panels have been equipped with the SecuritBasic security system. These work platforms, which make it possible to secure and improve the productivity of working at height, can be easily adapted to the installation of the formwork. The advances were thus able to be concreted without impacting traffic on the railway track located under the bridge.
The complete formwork, consisting of the security system and the formwork, was easily and safely assembled on the ground, then put in place by crane.
The result
As the formwork work went smoothly, the bridge work was completed in the summer of 2019. The structure was opened to traffic at the end of 2020. This new road between the two cities not only improves the local traffic, but also contributes to the development of two new business areas in the region.
