Time saving and safe handling
MEVA UK’s trading partner Leeds Acro Ltd. was commissioned in October 2024 by one of its customers, P. Colohan & Co. Ltd., to deliver all the formwork and falsework requirements for a large project in the London Borough of Havering, the Harold Hill Family Welcome Centre in Romford. After successfully using MevaDec for the first time, P. Colohan encouraged the formwork dealer to invest in a large stockholding of the slab formwork system.
Nothing beats doing it yourself
Caribbean islands evoke images of turquoise waters, sun-drenched beaches and picturesque landscapes. But for Dr. Jeanne-Rose René, engineer and managing director of a consulting firm for water resource management, the Caribbean is much more than a holiday destination – it is both home and inspiration.
Successful MEKit debut
The new MEVA Engineering Kit (MEKit) passed its first practical test with flying colours. Using parts from the engineering kit for bespoke applications, two towers were assembled to support a steel truss beam.
Precision work below ground
The Rastatt railway tunnel will form an important element of the European rail freight corridor between Rotterdam on the North Sea and Genoa on the Mediterranean. Two 4,270 m long railway tunnels are connected by eight emergency cross-passages and a service cross-passage. These nine tunnels were constructed using special solutions from MEVA.
A technical masterpiece
The Danish island of Lolland and the German island of Fehmarn in the Baltic Sea are separated by the Fehmarn Belt strait. Yet, the countries are now set to be connected by a 18.1 km long underwater tunnel. While the Femern Link Contractors (FLC) consortium is responsible for overall construction, MEVA is heavily involved in the megaproject through providing products and services.
One floor per week
The impressive skyline of Dubai has been enriched by a 358 m high skyscraper. MEVA climbing systems and formwork made an important contribution in keeping to the tight schedule in the construction of City Tower One, with office space and 600 residential units on 93 floors.
Wildlife crossing in Hungary
The Hungarian construction company LupEx kft. based in Paks specialises, among other things, on the construction of wildlife crossings. The photos show the construction of this type of green bridge over the new M6 motorway in the south of Hungary. The construction company relied on the modular MT 60 shoring tower to support the concrete slab.
There’s a lot going on in the Fahrwerk
In the Swiss town of Winterthur the building shell has been completed for a commercial complex with upper storeys that are accessible for vehicles. The construction of the approximately 20 m high round spiral walls and additional concrete construction work was realised with aplomb by MEVA using series and special formwork as well as climbing brackets.
Construction of a school extension
For some time now, pupils at the comprehensive school in the town of Iserlohn in Germany have been taught in containers. That will soon come to an end. A few weeks ago, the topping-out ceremony was held for a new school building that was completed on schedule and to the desired quality by the construction company TRS-Bau.
Saving time with Mammut XT
In the Swiss town of Wettingen a commercial building is being constructed with five storeys and heights ranging from 3.2 to 4.7 m. The local construction company Hächler AG is using the Mammut XT wall formwork system and BKB folding access platforms from MEVA.
Standard formwork cleverly doubled up
A new school building will soon be opening its doors in the Bavarian municipality of Kirchheim near Munich. The Haus für Kinder II (House for Children II) is a new annex of a type rarely seen in educational institutions.
